Check County Requirements
We recommend that all students contact their county health department to understand the requirements and restrictions for becoming a tattoo artist. While in many counties it may be straightforward and require only a blood-borne pathogen certification, it's important to be aware that requirements can vary. It's the responsibility of the student to know and fulfill these steps.

Blood Borne Pathogen
We require all students to complete a blood-borne pathogen class, which is available online. Most counties mandate this certification before beginning client work. We recommend taking the class at: https://blxtraining.com/.

Plan To Receive A Email 2 weeks Prior To Class
We strive to stay in contact with students as the class approaches. Typically, we send out an email containing the class location, time, and other important information about two weeks prior to the start date.

Make Final Payment
All final class payments are due 7 days prior to the class. Deposits for classes are non-refundable, and we only allow a switch in class dates once in case of a medical or family emergency. Final payments can be made using a credit card, with a 3% fee, or via wire transfer, which incurs no fee. We also offer payment plans, which include a 5% fee.

Review Manual And Take Quiz
One week prior to class, you will receive a manual via email along with other helpful documents to assist you in your business. The manual includes a link to a quiz, which must be completed after you have finished reading it. The quiz deadline is the Friday prior to class.

Arrive To Class
Our classes typically run from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, unless specified otherwise in the email. We provide a simple lunch of pizza or sandwiches and take a 30-minute break. If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, we kindly ask that you pack or plan accordingly. Please note, we have a dress code in place. During the class, we will be taking headshots and photos both days, so please come prepared and dressed appropriately. Ensure you wear closed-toe shoes and dress in black attire.

If you feel you need additional hands-on training after your live class, no problem. We offer drop-ins to our in-person classes and 1:1 sessions to assist you with your models.

Our learning journey will also include in-depth discussions on treating stretch marks, scars, and mastering Inkless tattoo techniques to achieve impeccable results. To further enhance our understanding, we will have the invaluable opportunity to witness these techniques in action on live models, providing a hands-on and immersive experience that will set the stage for a dynamic and enriching learning adventure.

Day 2: Color Theory
On day 2 of the class, we will dive into the principles of color theory, exploring techniques essential for achieving natural results in tattooing. Through interactive discussions and hands-on practice, students will learn to effectively apply inks for seamless blending. We will also introduce advanced skin scanner technology for precise skin tone matching. The day will conclude with live demonstrations on models, showcasing the impact of color theory and technology in tattooing.
